Best Robot Vacuum Under £400 in the UK (2026)
Short answer: for most UK homes, the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro (£398.99) is the best robot vacuum under £400: laser navigation, 3,000Pa suction and mopping in the same run. What to look for in a robot vacuum
- Navigation. This makes the biggest difference. A gyroscope robot like the E10 cleans in neat rows and works well in open, simple rooms. A laser (LDS) robot builds a map of your home, so you can pick rooms in the app, set no-go zones and let it clean several rooms in one go without missing patches.
- Suction (Pa). Higher numbers help on carpets and with pet hair. 3,000Pa to 4,000Pa is plenty for most UK homes with a mix of carpets and hard floors.
- Mopping. A vacuum-mop combines both jobs in one run and suits kitchens, hallways and laminate. It wipes rather than scrubs, so it keeps floors fresh between deeper cleans rather than replacing a mop and bucket for stubborn marks.
- Battery and docking. Every robot in this guide returns to its dock to recharge on its own. The 2 Pro has a 5,200mAh battery for whole-home cleans.
- App control. The Xiaomi robots work with the Xiaomi Home app (schedules, cleaning modes, room selection on the laser models). The Roomba 695 uses the iRobot Home app and works with voice assistants.
Our picks
Best overall: Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro
The Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro gets the important things right for the money: laser navigation that maps your home, 3,000Pa suction for carpets and hard floors, and adjustable water flow for mopping. In the app you can choose which rooms to clean, set schedules and draw no-go zones around pet bowls or rugs. It is the one we would recommend to most people.
Best budget pick: Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E10
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E10 is the easiest way into robot cleaning. It has strong 4,000Pa suction, sweeps and mops at the same time, and its slim body gets under beds and sofas. It uses gyroscope navigation rather than a laser, so it suits flats and simpler layouts best.
Best vacuum-only robot: iRobot Roomba 695
The Roomba 695 is a simple, reliable Wi-Fi robot from iRobot. Its 3-stage cleaning system with dual multi-surface brushes lifts dirt from carpets, an edge-sweeping brush reaches into corners, and Dirt Detect sensors spend more time on the busiest areas. It does not mop, so it is a good choice for carpeted homes.
Worth stretching for: Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Ultra
Just over the £400 mark at £409.99, the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Ultra is Xiaomi's premium model in this range. It has stronger 4,000Pa suction and 3D obstacle avoidance, so it steers around cables, socks and toys instead of getting stuck on them. If you have children or pets, that alone saves a lot of rescues. Please note it is supplied with an EU plug and a UK plug adapter, so it is ready to use in the UK.
Got a bigger budget?
If you want a self-emptying dock or sonic mopping, look at the Viomi S9 (£591.99) with its self-emptying base, or the Roborock S7 (£591.99), which scrubs hard floors and lifts its mop automatically on rugs. For quick tidy-ups between robot runs, a cordless stick vacuum such as the Dreame V11 (£295.99) is a handy partner.
